Before we jump right into Amazon Web Services (AWS), it is important that we quickly explain cloud computing and its business benefits. One of the best ways to improve the daily operations of your business is to take advantage of cloud computing. Transitioning to the cloud offers numerous benefits for companies small and large. Here are the top five reasons why cloud computing is an excellent option for your business.

With Cloud Computing your software is readily available with one simple click of a button

#1 No Installation Necessary

One of the top advantages of using cloud technology is that no installation is necessary. All of your software is readily available on the cloud with one simple click of a button. On the other hand, installing desktop software is a time-consuming process. You will also never have to worry about downloading updates, as all of these updates are automatically downloaded in the cloud.

#2 Greater Flexibility

Another advantage of cloud computing is that it gives your company greater flexibility. You can quickly scale up or down to best meet the needs of your business with cloud technology. Scaling your services down is a great way to save money during slow times while scaling up is an excellent way to meet the demands of your business during periods of growth.

#3 Perfect Defense Against Natural Disasters

Cloud technology is one of the most effective tools in keeping your data safe against natural disasters. Storing all of your essential data in the cloud protects your information from natural disasters that can wipe out data backups inside your office. You will have the peace of mind to know that your information is safe against all kinds of natural disasters.

#4 Remote Access for Employees

Enabling employees to work remotely is another excellent benefit of using cloud technology. An employee can work at home or any other place with access to the internet. Allowing employees to work remotely is an excellent way to boost morale by giving each worker greater freedom and flexibility in completing job assignments.

#5 Easily Transition to a New Office

The use of cloud technology makes it easy for your business to move to another location. Cloud computing allows your company to easily connect with new devices without having to wait on long installation times that are common with desktop software. An IT service provider can help your business quickly transition to a new office with minimal downtime with the help of cloud computing.

Cloud computing is a fantastic option for businesses of all sizes. A managed service provider can help your company utilize cloud technology in the workplace. Cloud computing will continue to evolve, and now is one of the best times for your business to take advantage of this innovative technology.

So What Is AWS Exactly? Well, let’s go back to the early 90s; Amazon was one of the early players in e-commerce, and AWS spawned from their need to build a technology infrastructure (independent data centers for each department, with an enterprise-grade interface to retrieve the data and resources between departments) for themselves. This has morphed into the AWS of today, which is a cloud computing infrastructure made up of several different cloud computing products and services. The Amazon division provides networking, remote computing, email, servers, mobile development, storage, and security. For existing companies, AWS provides low-cost migration services and resources to aid in expansion. For start-ups, AWS is great for building a business. AWS provides the tools necessary for companies to start up with the cloud.

While there are other players in the cloud space like Oracle Cloud Services, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure, AWS by far has the largest footprint in the space. Simply put, AWS sets the bar. AWS is so massive that it can be slipt in two.

  • Amazon EC2 web service provides secure; resizable compute capacity in the cloud.

  • S3, Amazon’s storage system that offers industry-leading data availability, security, scalability, and performance.

Also, AWS provides services such as Amazon CloudFront, Amazon RDS, Amazon SNS, Amazon SQS, Amazon SimpleDB, Amazon VPC. The list is massive.

The AWS universe is massive, but familiarity with the mentioned fundamentals helps prepare you to expand your business infrastructure to the cloud, or for start-ups build an entirely new environment in the cloud while mastering data logging and ensuring compliance and security.
