At Visual Connections, we pride ourselves on fostering a team of excellence-driven professionals, and this month, we're thrilled to shine our Employee Spotlight on Ashley Kluener, our dynamic Lead Senior Coder on the MRRC project. With a career spanning nearly two decades in healthcare, Ashley embodies precision, leadership, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
🚀 A Leader in Coding Accuracy and Compliance
Ashley brings over 8 years of Health Information Management experience and 6+ years in Risk Adjustment Data Validation (RADV), specializing in ICD-9/10-CM and HCC coding methodologies. From inpatient and outpatient records to SNF audits and clinical risk adjustment, Ashley consistently upholds and exceeds industry benchmarks for accuracy and compliance.
She has played pivotal roles across multiple Performance Years (CON/PY14 through PY18), where her depth of coding expertise and her leadership acumen have made a lasting impact. Her strengths in interpreting complex guidelines and mentoring cross-functional teams are instrumental in helping Visual Connections maintain its high standards of audit readiness and regulatory compliance.

More than just a technical expert, Ashley is a natural mentor and team leader. She has effectively managed mid-sized layered teams, mentored QA leads, and facilitated training programs with poise and clarity. Known for creating robust QA protocols and engaging training content, Ashley ensures her teams are empowered to deliver with confidence and accuracy.
Her recent elevation to Lead Senior Coder reflects not just her technical skill, but her ability to foster collaboration, communicate with empathy, and drive strategic goals forward.

Ashley’s impact extends beyond the day-to-day. She’s led the implementation of enhanced QA processes, participated in user acceptance testing (UAT), and introduced efficient new workflows to improve turnaround and documentation quality. Ashley holds a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) credential and is a Certified Risk Adjustment Coder (CRC). She will earn her AHIMA-Approved ICD-10-CM Trainer designation in January 2025—further testament to her ongoing dedication to professional growth. With multiple degrees and certificates in Health Information Management and Business Information Systems from Sinclair Community College, she blends academic rigor with real-world results.
