Visual Connections, LLC is seeking Implementation Engineer. As a Cybersecurity Implementation Engineer, you will play a critical role in supporting the mission of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) deploying Palo Alto's Prisma Cloud tools across multiple environments. The role requires a strong understanding of both security principles and the technical intricacies of cloud, on-premises, and hybrid infrastructures.

Veterans are encouraged to apply.

Duties

  • The primary duty is to Implement, configure, and integrate Prisma Cloud into the customer's IT ecosystem. This includes deploying the Prisma Cloud Console (either SaaS or self-hosted) and deploying "Defenders" or "Enforcers" across all workloads—virtual machines, containers, and serverless functions—in public clouds (AWS, Azure, GCP), on-premises data centers, and hybrid setups. This will be done alongside Palo Alto Networks SMEs.

  • The engineer translates security requirements and policies into actionable configurations within Prisma Cloud. This involves creating and tuning rules for runtime protection, vulnerability management, compliance checks (such as those for NIST or PCI DSS), and network segmentation.

  • A crucial part of the job is integrating Prisma Cloud into existing CI/CD pipelines and IT workflows. This involves integrating with tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab, Jira, and Splunk to enable "shift left" security, which helps identify and remediate vulnerabilities and misconfigurations early in the development lifecycle.

  • The Implementation Engineer will act as a subject matter expert for post-deployment issues. They perform fault isolation and root cause analysis to diagnose and resolve complex technical problems related to Prisma Cloud functionality, integrations, or performance. This can involve troubleshooting support and providing technical assistance as needed.

  • The role involves using Prisma Cloud to monitor and manage a system's security posture. This includes running vulnerability scans on container images and hosts, ensuring compliance with industry benchmarks (like CIS), and helping to prioritize and track the remediation of identified risks.

  • The engineer is responsible for documenting the deployment process, architectural decisions, and configuration settings. They also provide knowledge transfer and training to the client's internal security and IT teams to ensure they can manage and operate Prisma Cloud effectively for post-implementation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher - equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree

  • 2+ years of implementing cybersecurity tools in a federal environment.

  • Strong understanding of Palo Alto Prisma Cloud and its configuration, knowledge of XSIAM a plus

  • Experience with Agile project management methods and frameworks such as SCRUM and SAFe is preferred

  • Working knowledge of program/project management software (Microsoft Project, Jira, Microsoft 365/Teams applications, etc.)

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills
