DLP Database Analyst

Visual Connections, LLC seeking a DLP Database Analyst. The Database Analyst will play a pivotal role in our Data Loss Prevention (DLP) program for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). As a Database Analyst, you will play a crucial role in analyzing database systems essential to data protection and cybersecurity initiatives. The ideal candidate should have a strong foundation in database management, data analysis, and attention to detail. 

Duties 

  • Perform data analysis tasks, including querying databases, generating reports, and analyzing data sets to extract actionable insights. Contribute to decision-making processes by providing data-driven recommendations. 

  • Contribute to data modeling efforts by working with database architects and data modelers to design efficient and effective data structures that align with project requirements. 

  • Assist cross-functional teams and stakeholders with implementing database security measures, including user access controls, encryption, and auditing, to protect sensitive data from unauthorized access or breaches. 

  • Provide support to database management teams on configurations that ensure data integrity, availability, and performance while adhering to security and compliance standards. 

  • Assist in ensuring that databases comply with federal regulations, industry standards, and organizational policies related to data protection and cybersecurity. Support compliance assessments and audits. 

  • Generate and distribute routine and ad-hoc reports based on database data to meet the needs of various stakeholders. Ensure that reports are accurate, timely, and relevant. 

Requirements 

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, electronics engineering or other engineering or technical discipline 

  • 2+ years' experience as a database analyst or similar role  

  • Basic knowledge of database security principles and best practices. 

  • Understanding of database management systems such as Oracle, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL 

  • Familiarity with data loss prevention (DLP) and cybersecurity concepts is a plus 

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
