CSOC Mid Level Vulnerability Assessment Analyst
Visual Connections, LLC seeking a CSOC Mid Level Vulnerability Assessment Analyst.
Duties:
Execute vulnerability scans against a variety of systems and applications.
Utilize a variety of industry standard security tools to conduct security vulnerability scans
Determine risk from vulnerabilities based on availability of exploit and potential loss of information and IT services capabilities
Produce reports based on results from scans and have the ability to explain in detail to stakeholders
Review and verify IP ranges to be scanned and select appropriate scan policies.
Monitor, coordinate, and react to concurrent scans throughout the operation and verify accuracy of data and conduct system checks upon completion.
Troubleshoot to resolve any issues identified during the scans.
Develop new testing programs to expand and deepen scans.
Write and edit scripts for scanning and security testing (Perl, Python, etc.).
Help to perform external foot printing twice yearly
Utilize tools such as Tenable Security Center, Nessus Scanner, NMAP, and others as required
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
3+ years of related work experience
Experience with conducting security vulnerability scans of large enterprise systems and applications. Experience with doing this for Federal Government agencies is a plus.
Experience with vulnerability scanning tools like Tenable NESSUS
Security certifications such as CISA, CEH, etc. is preferred
Ability to support scanning operations during non-standard hours, primarily nights, and weekends to minimize impact on network users.
