Our program and project management structure helps us deliver the results we promise at the start of our engagements. We use a hybrid Program Management Office (PMO) known as the Community of Practice (CoP) to support development and service-related initiatives. The CoP concept utilizes best practices such as SCRUM and Kanban Agile, CMMI, DevOps, and PMBOK to establish methodologies, processes, and procedures to maximize performance capabilities and mitigate unacceptable risk while providing innovation and improved services.

The CoP utilizes a SharePoint Project Web Application system as the program and task order management framework to optimize collaboration, communication and resource capacity planning to inform stakeholders and senior management of performance status, milestones, deliverables, risks, issues and corrective actions.

Visual Connections has extensive experience with program integrity objectives and in identifying fraud, waste and abuse for our government clients. Our analytics experts and subject matter experts are very familiar with developing complex statistical models, as well as navigating structured/non-structured data, claims data, audit data, demographic data, and informatics data to determine possible fraud, waste and abuse. Our staff has an in-depth understanding of the Improper Payments Elimination and Recovery Improvement Act of 2012 (IPERIA), which requires federal agencies to review their programs and activities to identify programs that may be susceptible to significant improper payments, to test high risk programs, and to develop and implement corrective action plans for high risk programs.

Section 508, an amendment to the United States Workforce Rehabilitation Act of 1973, is a federal law mandating that all electronic and information technology developed, procured, maintained or used by the federal government be accessible to people with disabilities. Section 508 was enacted to encourage development of user-centered design and usability principles and to ensure the same technology benefits are afforded to people with disabilities. Visual Connections specializes in all aspects of Section 508. We can:

  • Help you understand 508 remediation and set up processes that allow you to comply with 508 regulations and WCAG 2.0 standards

  • Develop front- and back-end web applications that are accessible to people with disabilities

  • Use a combination of tools and techniques to ensure compliance in the usability, design, implementation, content authoring and maintenance phases of any application we develop

  • Test Web applications, using a combination of manual and automated techniques

  • Scan document deliverables (PDF, Microsoft Office) for Section 508 violations and provide solutions based on current best practices.

VC possesses expertise in assistive technologies, automated tools, software programs, or product systems that are used to increase, maintain, or improve the functional capabilities for people with disabilities. We provide GPAT/VPAT assessment for each application system and report directly to the Section 508 Program office.
